pong.Mythos opening in Stuttgart
Feb 13, 09:48 PM by Volker

We just came back from the opening of the fantastic pong.mythos exhibition shown in the Wuertembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart.

We reached the romantic town Stuttgart aka Benztown through a long dirty tunnel, ended up in a mess of oneway streets and only reached our final destination by driving straight over the lawn of the Schlossplatz.

The exhibition is presenting a lot of Pong to actually touch and play – even the original arcade cabinet is there (and only playable thanks to Niklas never cooling soldering iron). The photo above is really only showing the “pong history” fraction in the entrance area. Here’s Niklas after defeating Tilman on the original Pong:

And here’s Tilman defeating Niklas on the PainStation. Guess what’s more rewarding…hehehe…

Among the recent festivals we have been to that had a lot of inactive video emissions, pong.mythos really stands out!

We had a blast on the opening evening with lots of booze, pretzels and spontanous Karaoke with DJ Dirk. Even the most shy mechatronic nerd was dragged along and yelled into the microphone.

Big thanks to the curator Andreas Lange from the Computerspiele Museum Berlin for pulling this off!
